I485 Case Status - Pending Review Decision

Gurus,

My EB2 PD is 01/2007. My I485 notice date is 04/2012. I will be current next month. On Friday(07/19), I called USCIS customer service and spoke to a L2 officer about my case status. The officer read my current status as Pending Review Decision. He didn't give any more details. He said USCIS will contact me if they need any additional information. I couldn't make anything out of it. I am worried whether my case has ever been reviewed. Has anybody got similar status update. Please share.

Typically , your current status online will show either as " Initial Review " or " RFE Response review if RFE has been responded to " . My case used to be RFE response review until I changed my address which overwrote the status to Initial review again. Just my thought , wait for others to respond , if you recently had a status change online in the last few months , it probably indicates someone has literally opened your file and did something . Best case scenario it is already pre-adjudicated as we have seen RFEs issued for cases till early 2008 PDs . If your case is in good standing , you should definitely expect GC in the early part of Aug. So dont worry .

Thanks for your response. My online case status is Acceptance - ever since I filed(04/2012). My spouse(derivative applicant) status was also the same until she recieved the mass RFE. I didn't recieve the RFE. We responded the RFE even before the "don't respond notice". Her case status changed to RFE Response Review for a week and then to Initial Review. Last week, when I called USCIS, both of our status are in Pending Review Decision. I see a lot of folks calling USCIS asking about their status. Just checking if anybody has the same status as ours.

when they do something to your file typically online status changes.

for most RFE responses the status will change to rfe response review when they get the mail.

when they actually open and review your file they change to intial review.( as they don't have too many options to choose from or to just write a free text of what they are doing with your file )

address change means they might have touched your file and so the change in the status.

there isn't anything really like pre-adj as they can always ask additional evidence before they approve the GC.

Bottomline: online status will give some clues but it can be interpreted in a given context

PS: when I replied my first RFE the status remained as RFE sent but not reponse reviewed ( they don't update online status all the time)

sham - the online system as well as USCIS is not very well geared to give you real latest updates very fast. So don't worry too much. If as the L2 officer has said USCIS hasn't contacted you then more than likely your is just waiting to be current before it gets approved. Good luck.
