Hi

Where do I locate the Alien number from? This is needed to complete the form 485.

The I -140 approval has a receipt number only and the DOS notice has a case number.

Thanks

Leslie

Hi Leslie,

Welcome to the forum!

You may find the A- number either in H1B or other non-immigrant approval notice . For dependents who do not have Alien number, Ignore and proceed. Dependants will be alloted one after I-485 is promptly filed.

I see you have sent RFE for 485 in May 2012. Have you called them to find status or any update? i have similar case.

dec2007,

My PD is in 2009. I do called them then, just wanted to know whether the RFE was cleared and the case was pre-adjudicated or not, for my disappointment the L2 officer registered my questions as SR and I received a formal letter from USCIS saying our case is pending because of the recent (then) retrogression.

Kanmani,

Check with local congressman's immigration secretary. They should be able to speak to the liaison officer for USCIS and let you know about the status. She was able to get me the status and also help in expediting the renewal for EAD.

asankaran, Thank you very much for the suggestion. My husband suggests to wait and see, even when I spoke with the L2, I had to give A to Z details about the case, the SR was registered under my receipt number and the reply was addressed to me (I'm the dependent). I left the rest in the primary's hands :)
