DebI don't know the answer, but wouldn't that be your SSN. That is your unique identifier with the IRS (ITIN for those with no SSN).

Thanks Spec! Any idea how I can retrieve that unique identifier from IRS.

Thanks Spec! Any idea how I can retrieve that unique identifier from IRS.It would be your Social Security Number (in the form xxx-xx-xxxx). Since you are in H1B status, you must have one.
If you can't remember it (or find the card), have a look at your last Tax Return and get the number from that. It is one of the first pieces of information on the form.
As I said above, I don't know the answer for sure, but I can't think of anything else, given the description.

Some more queries on DS160.
under section Temporary Work Visa Information, there is a question
Where Do You Intend to Work?
Will it be my employer address or client address.
Similarly, in section Present Work/Education/Training Information there is a question
Present employer or school address
Will it be my employer address or client address.
Thanks!
Deb
